This student home page concerning the historical sights of Luebeck connects the vocational school subjects building technology, English and web design. We are the authors, a class of technical assistants in data processing in the building trade, educational stage 2006 at the Emil-Possehl-School, the "BD 1 06".
Due to the fact that a home page of this type did not yet exist in this extensive form, we created it. This design should satisfy visitors´curiosity about our hometown Luebeck. So each and every student of the class was involved constructively in advancing this internet side well supported by our teachers Mr Bentkamp and Mr Fischer.

Stages of the project:
After Mr Rolf Bentkamp had tested the bases of the topics HTML and web design in a concluding exam, it fitted well that we now had gotten a task to prove our knowledge in programming and foreign language with the description of Luebeck´s historical buildings in the subject English.
In different groups, we processed information about some of the most important sights of Luebeck´s old town area. We collected information from various sources, e.g. books and the Internet. In a following step, we worked out new text and translated them into English, too. Excursions to the old part of town accompanied by our English-teacher helped us to achieve a real impression of the historical buildings.
Whilst we were visiting the sights of the city, presentations of the first textual designs by the groups conveyed the idea of the former meaning of, for example, the historic installations of defence at the time of the Hanseatic League. Valuable indications of the meaning of the individual mundane - and sacral-constructions are to be found on boards of information at the sights in the German and the English language, too.
Afterwards, beside the textual elaboration a web design competition took place. Individual homepages designed by the groups delivered the components for this concluding version. In class we decided to transfer the best ideas of the individual groups to the side you are now visiting. Thanks to the Sail-flight Aero Club of Luebeck e.V. (e.V. = "registered association") an air photograph of the old part of Luebeck adorns our opening page. Special thank to Mr Joerg Hille for his kind support.
Finally, all the different texts of Luebeck´s sights were brought together and edited by Ms Rebekah Moras, a foreign language assistant from Alaska and our English teacher and co-developer of the homepage idea, Mr Fischer. Concluding improvement suggestions for the German texts were made by our German Teacher Ms Hanßen. Thank you all for your competent help.
Now, we wish you much pleasure in discovering Luebeck´s history!
