The Luebeck Townhall

"The town hall in Luebeck is one of the most impressive buildings in northern Germany´s architecture. While this building consists of various building materials, it aloso reconciles different epochs. That is because the ongoing construction has been constantly enriched since the building was first built in AD 1226, the year of the Reich Freedom. Like the neighbouring St. Mary´s Church (Marienkirche), the Townhall displays the Gothic style of the era it was finished in during the late 16th century. Since 1226, the Townhall constantly accommodated the mayor; in these days Mr Bernd Sachse. After AD 1820, the building was also used as a court. Today, the Townhall also is the main meeting point for conferences for the citizens of Luebeck, represented by different political groups or parties."
